Chernobyl Project at the Americas Society, New York (05:44)

In this video, we take a look at the “Chernobyl Project” as displayed at the galleries of the Americas Society, in New York.

Initially, Miceli considered "visual representations of silence," but her project evolved into something much more profound. Through photographic techniques to capture the radiation levels at the Chernobyl site, Miceli created a series of haunting and powerful images that detail the ongoing impact of the disaster, which occurred 33 years ago. In this video, we highlight her work, which was showcased in the Americas Society's gallery, converted into a black box to create a sense of immersion for viewers. Miceli's art serves as a reminder to consider the implications of the actions and to strive for a more sustainable future.
